The Thinkers & Makers Salon is a monthly curated event with special guest presentations, jam sessions, an open mic segment, impromptu readings and performances these are open sessions bringing together artists, writers, spoken-worders, performers, poets, soap-boxers and academics.

Justin Clemens’ poetry books include The Mundiad (Hunter 2013) and Villain (Hunter 2009). He also writes on contemporary Australian poetry, art, and philosophy, including in Minimal Domination (Surpllus 2011) and, co-written with Dominic Pettman, Avoiding the Subject (Amsterdam UP 2004). He teaches at the University of Melbourne.
Abdul Hammoud is a spoken word artist, founder of The Dirty Thirty Poetry Month editor and compiler of The Dirty Thirty Anthology. He teaches writing classes and workshops for schools and organizations that are looking to explore new avenues of expression. His art has taken him as close as New Zealand and as far as the United States, as well as to his beloved home country. Most of his work revolves around current issues including the constant state of war in the Middle East, racial divides, as well as the portrayal of masculinity.
