SEPTEMBER THINKERS & MAKERS SALON

The Good Room Brunswick East and The Foundling Archive present…

Thursday 2nd September, 7pm start at The Good Room, Brunswick East (390a Lygon street)

Claiming Kelly: (re)interpreting iconic imagery for a broader local narrative

This month we reclaim, reinterpret and remake the iconic and historical version of Ned Kelly through the creative practice of three local artists. As we move through continuous political flux and social change the contemporary reimagining of history is fast becoming an essential way in which we are able to view ourselves as Australians within the post-colonial context.

Featuring: Mars Drum, Salvatori Lolicato & Regan (HaHa) Tamanui.

Includes our special guest musician and home-style Sicilian mezze!

The Thinkers & Makers Salon is a monthly curated session bringing together artists, writers, performers, poets and academics to discuss Australian history, society and identity. Hosted by Sukhjit Khalsa, this event is held in a relaxed and innovative space where local people can explore, present and connect.
