Theo the Label produces sweatshop-free clothing staples for men and women who value the skill and workmanship involved in garment production. Classic silhouettes with quality fabrications create versatile slow-fashion garments designed to last many seasons to come.
Garments are designed by Founder and RMIT fashion graduate Esther Kirwan in her Brunswick studio before sourcing fabrications in both Melbourne remnant stores and Balinese suppliers. Remnant, organic and sustainable fabrics are prioritised with the most recent AW17 collection consisting of a selection of bamboo, Lenzing tencel and end of run rolls.
Garments are then manufactured either locally by Esther herself in the brunswick studio, or by a skilled Balinese family working in their own home studio to produce garments from start to finish. Customers are provided with information to virtually ‘Meet the Maker’ of garments online, building relationships and an appreciation for the garment manufacturing process.
