Gerard Geer is a Melbourne based sculptural artist with an insatiable curiosity for the anatomical inner workings of all things organic. His work combines skeletal articulation with taxidermy principles to create intricately amalgamated creatures which exist within his own fantasy. Fusing together feathers, fur and bone, contrasted with crystal, stone, metal, wood and other mediums, his creations explore ideas of impermanence and mortality merged with concepts of rebirth and reincarnation.
Through his work, he creates a window to an alternate reality where fantastical creatures and winged beasts of beauty roam uninhibited by the laws of nature, crossing bridges into worlds of shimmering crystals. His dream is to open that window and take you there.
