Enamelling for Beginners
During this 5-week course students will learn fundamental enameling techniques and leave with five enamel pieces illustrating these techniques. The techniques covered include basic cloisonné, sifting and surface techniques, and watercolour enamel painting.
Students will be introduced to tools and equipment specific to the enameling process as well as the enameling basics such as sifting, stencils, additions to enamelled surfaces (threads, lump, lustres, silver foil), stamping, carving your own stamp, clear enamel top coat and washing enamel.
Enhance your jewellery making skills by perfecting the foundation art of creating jewellery findings. Learn to create earring hooks and hoops, a range of jump rings, clasps and toggles and stud posts.
Quality jewellery design and manufacture relies heavily on a jewellers’ ability to successfully make secure, strong, well crafted findings. With professional guidance, detailed demonstrations and time to experiment you will leave this one day workshop with a broad range of design options for findings and confidence that your jewellery will be professional and everlasting.
