FREE ARTISTS WORKSHOP FOR KIDS
Wednesday 21 September 2016
10 am – 12 midday
In conjunction with the current exhibition The Counihan Gallery in Brunswick presents a series of free Public Programs.
Join LANDMARKS artist Janelle Low in a free workshop creating artworks using a variety of fun mediums including drawing, clay and photography. The workshop will explore the place-making themes of the current exhibition and encourage children to explore the landmarks in their neighborhood.
TO BRING: Each participant please bring in a couple of images (printed or on a device) of landmarks they notice on the way to school or on the way to the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick. This could be anything from their front door, a crack in the pavement, a favorite tree, a dog behind a fence, an unusual house, or the corner store.
Suitable for kids ages 8 – 13
For bookings and enquiries please call the Counihan Gallery In Brunswick on 9389 8622 or

The exhibition presents the works of six artists that together reveal the ways
in which we simultaneously navigate and inscribe our urban habitat.
In LANDMARKS the constructed environment is a site of memory and meaning,
where human presence reveals itself in overlapping narratives.
Shared spaces are recorded as personal accounts of association and experience
so that one might describe the world as an ever-changing map that can be read in a myriad of ways.
