The winning story will receive a $4000 first prize and be published in Overland’s first print issue for 2018. Two runners-up will each receive $500 and be published at Overland online

Working primarily in charcoal to develop observational drawing skills we will then develop form, composition and spatial relationships. Once this drawing foundation is established we will then begin to explore colour with pastels. This class is for beginners and the hope is that as the individuals continue this course they will explore pastels and working with paint as they move through to the Advanced Opening to Art class.
