Abbotsford Convent – Call for applications

Fallen O’er by Alice Dixon, Caroline Meaden and William McBride as part of Alchemy 2016.
$5000 arts grants now open!

Alchemy is the Abbotsford Convent Foundation’s key funding initiative designed to support and deliver artistic activity across the Convent. Proposals are welcome from all creative streams to activate the site’s diverse spaces and engage new and existing audiences. Projects should be site-responsive and site-challenging, considering the Convent’s location, architecture or history with reference to the indigenous heritage, local culture, social history, geography, audiences or built forms. Successful projects will be delivered throughout the month of May 2017.

Support from the Abbotsford Convent Foundation will include:

Up to $5000 for each project’s development and presentation
In-kind venue hire costs for research and development
Marketing support including website listings, blog posts, an Alchemy specific targeted e-newsletter, social media editorial and a printed program
Support to seek additional external funding if required
Alchemy 2016 saw three site responsive works presented throughout May. These were Ecophany, a sonic soundscape installation in the tempietto by Alex Akers & Helen Fitzgerald and two performance works – Fallen O’er by William McBride, Caroline Meaden & Alice Dixon and Cross my Heart (and Hope) by Rawcus.
